Conversations With The Candidates

In 2018, Mainers will be electing a new governor. We are fortunate to have a number of talented Democrats stepping forward to run.

The Lake Region Dems, supported by the Cumberland County Dems, are sponsoring a series of meetings — conversations — with our Democratic candidates for Governor.

These events will give you the chance to meet with each candidate individually, giving you a true sense of who they are and who will best represent your concerns and priorities in the Blaine House. We invite you to attend each session:

Oct. 1, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Adam Cote
Oct. 22, 5 – 7:00 PM: Diane Russell
Oct. 29, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Attorney General Janet Mills
Nov. 1, 6 – 7:30 PM: Mark Dion
Nov. 5, 5 – 7:00 PM: Jim Boyle
Nov. 19, 5 – 7:00 PM: Mark Eves
Dec. 3, 4 – 5:00 PM: Betsy Sweet
Dec. 3, 6 – 7:00 PM: Patrick “Ike” Eisenhart

Each conversation will be held at The Little Meeting House, 719 Roosevelt Trail, North Windham. Refreshments will be served at all meetings.

Get ready to have a conversation with our Democratic candidates! With your help, one of them will be our next governor.

Special question for discussion and your input – How can the CCDC help municipal committees in Cumberland County develop their capacity to be effective advocates during these troubling times?

No Culling Here

Cynthia Dill’s divisive rhetoric is not representative of the Democratic Party we know. Despite the example Ms. Dill sets, we are not a party of elitists who shun working class and rural voters. Quite the contrary, we strive to be the party of the people.

The Cumberland County Democratic Committee welcomes all who identify as Democrats. It doesn’t matter whether you prefer Carhartt or Armani; whether you wear flannel or silk; whether you were born and raised in Maine or are from away; whether you drive a Prius or a pickup; it doesn’t matter whether your bumper sticker says “Hillary” or “Bernie”.

We meet next on April 9th. (Check back for details). Like all Democrats, Ms. Dill is welcome to attend, but the elitism must be checked at the door.
